We know that one of the big meeting time-wasters is to not focus enough on the action.
In France, three out of four managers admit to have left a meeting without remembering what was discussed or what was his/her tasks to do. Since we’ve started working on Solid, our goal has always been to address this and help you easily remember all your meetings’ decisions. We’ve just gone one step further by adding action items.
Action Items
When adding a note into Solid, you can now join an action item to it. This allows you to define a due date for the action, as well as assign someone, or several people to it. You can assign yourself of course, just as I did. The due date can either be a meeting, or a day.
This way, people will know what they need to do, and when they need to do it for. “Okay, we get it, focusing on actions is great…but sometimes, we’re not quite there yet”, you’ll say. And you’re right…
That’s why there’s more! Sometimes, notes in your agenda will not only be actions, but acknowledgements of a decision, or the mention of a decision that still needs to be taken.
So we’ve added a simple way to differentiate your notes.
More Types of Notes
When adding a note in the agenda, you can now decide between 3 types of notes:
- Basic note
- Open issue
- Decision
So now, your meeting minutes are even clearer. Want to quickly go through all the decisions taken during the meeting? Done. Want to know everything you can do to address the issues left open? Done. And of course, basic notes are still here for your high-pH needs.
…But there’s more! It’s very nice to be able to create actions, select due dates and assign people to them, but you’re probably wondering how you’re going to keep track of them all? Between all your meetings, it would be easy to get lost. That’s why we created the Action Items list.
The Action Items List
This is the one place that lists all the action items that have been assigned to you. It’s easy to access from the left-hand side menu.
This way, you can stay on top of things and never forget what’s on your pipe.
